La orientaci\u00f3n vocacional tiene una importancia determinante para la formaci\u00f3n de recursos humanos en Enfermer\u00eda, debido a que ayuda a formar el inter\u00e9s profesional. Objetivo. Caracterizar la orientaci\u00f3n vocacional de estudiantes Enfermer\u00eda primer a\u00f1o. M\u00e9todos. Se realiz\u00f3 un estudio descriptivo, de corte transversal, en la Facultad de Ciencias M\u00e9dicas \u201cEnrique Cabrera\u201d en el per\u00edodo comprendido de febrero a marzo de 2023. El universo, que coincidi\u00f3 con la muestra de investigaci\u00f3n, estuvo constituida por 50 estudiantes de primer a\u00f1o noveno grado curso 2022\u20132023. Se aplicaron m\u00e9todos te\u00f3ricos: an\u00e1lisis-s\u00edntesis, inducci\u00f3n-deducci\u00f3n; emp\u00edricos: encuesta a los estudiantes, estad\u00edsticos para la obtenci\u00f3n, procesamiento y an\u00e1lisis de los resultados. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comit\u00e9 \u00c9tico de Investigaci\u00f3n de la Facultad. Resultados. La edad que predomin\u00f3 result\u00f3 ser la de 15 a\u00f1os con el 76%, se constata un predominio de estudiantes del sexo femenino con un 84%, el 86% de los estudiantes declararon no participar en actividades de orientaci\u00f3n vocacional para elegir la carrera de Enfermer\u00eda, el 44% refiri\u00f3 como motivo fundamental para elegir la carrera la preferencia por la profesi\u00f3n de Enfermer\u00eda. Conclusiones. La caracterizaci\u00f3n de los componentes asociados a la orientaci\u00f3n vocacional de estudiantes de Enfermer\u00eda primer a\u00f1o, permiti\u00f3 constatar el deficiente trabajo de orientaci\u00f3n vocacional durante los niveles de ense\u00f1anza que preceden a la universidad. Se propone la implementaci\u00f3n de un sistema de acciones encaminadas al fortalecimiento de la orientaci\u00f3n vocacional para estudiantes que ingresan a la carrera de Enfermer\u00eda.; Introduction. Vocational guidance has a determining importance for the training of human resources in Nursing, because it helps to form professional interest. Objective. Characterize the vocational orientation of first-year Nursing students. Method. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out at the \u201cEnrique Cabrera\u201d Faculty of Medical Sciences in the period from February to March 2023. The universe, which coincided with the research sample, was made up of 50 first-year students.ninthgradeyear2022\u20132023. Theoretical methods were applied: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction; empirical: student survey, statistics for obtaining, processing and analyzing the results. The study was approved by the Faculty Research Ethics Committee. Results. The predominant age turned out to be 15 years with 76%, there is a predominance of female students with 84%, 86% of the students declared not participating in vocational guidance activities to choose the Nursing career, 44% referred to the preference for the Nursing profession as the fundamental reason for choosing the career. Conclusions. The characterization of the components associated with the vocational guidance of first-year Nursing students allowed us to verify the poor work of vocational guidance during the teaching levels that precede university. The implementation of a system of actions aimed at strengthening vocational guidance for students entering the Nursing career is proposed.; Introdu\u00e7\u00e3o. Foi realizado um estudo descritivo e transversal na Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias M\u00e9dicas \u201cEnrique Cabrera\u201d no per\u00edodo de fevereiro a mar\u00e7o de 2023. O universo, que coincidiu com a amostra da pesquisa, foi composto por 50 alunos do primeiro ano. Curso 2022-2023. Foram aplicados m\u00e9todos te\u00f3ricos: an\u00e1lise-s\u00edntese, indu\u00e7\u00e3o-dedu\u00e7\u00e3o; emp\u00edrico: inqu\u00e9rito aos alunos, estat\u00edsticas para obten\u00e7\u00e3o, processamento e an\u00e1lise dos resultados. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comit\u00ea de \u00c9tica em Pesquisa da Faculdade. Resultados. A idade predominante acabou por seros 15 anos com 76%, h\u00e1 predomin\u00e2ncia de estudantes do sexo feminino com 84%, 86% dos estudantes declararam n\u00e3o participar em atividades de orienta\u00e7\u00e3o profissional para escolher a carreira de Enfermagem, 44% referiram a prefer\u00eancia pela a profiss\u00e3o de enfermagem como raz\u00e3o fundamental para a escolha da carreira. Conclus\u00f5es. A caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o dos componentes associados \u00e0 orienta\u00e7\u00e3o profissional dos estudantes do primeiro ano de Enfermagem permitiu-nos verificar o fraco trabalho da orienta\u00e7\u00e3o profissional durante os n\u00edveis de ensino que antecede ma universidade.
